The updated Ford Edge will remain in Ford’s ranks until at least 2021. The SUV currently generates 315 horsepower (234 kilowatts) and produces 29 miles per gallon of highway. The new gearbox should give Edge some additional performance as well.
Gone by six-speed automatic replaces the more efficient nine-pspeed gearbox.
The same 2.0 liter and 2.7 liter EcoBoost engine will carry over from the previous model, of course, as the more powerful 3.5-liter V6.
#FORD EDGE 2020 HYBRID UPDATE#
Although the overall profile of the SUV does not change, under the awning Edge will update some powertrain options. The updated edges will ride on the same Ford CD4 platform that also underlies the Lincoln MKX. In the cabin, Edge will present pre-loaded with some additional technology as well. The upgraded wheels will also be available, and in addition the fascia will be one of the most significant changes to the exterior.
